Conflict Resolution

Conflicts arise when there is a difference of opinion.

They get resolved when either both parties come to even ground or when a larger authority enforces a closure.

The Nature of Conflict

Conflicts are healthy and necessary to assess the best for the product/business.

However, indecision is costlier than the difference.

Mental Models

Coming from a science and computer science background, I've developed a straightforward model of right and wrong.

This model is effective for assessing facts but not for understanding opinions and people.

Finding Common Ground

Understand that there are infinite numbers between 0 and 1 and infinite shades between white and black.

Focus on the problem instead of the person to get to an even ground.

Conclusion

Close solutions and conflicts where everyone wins.

Remember, that solution providing a marginal difference isn't worth the fight. Don't sweat the small stuff.
